Game of Thrones's latest filming offers the strongest evidence yet of Jon Snow's fate

Warning: This article contains spoilers that some readers may prefer to avoid.

Leaks from the Game of Thrones set have may have given us the strongest evidence so far about Jon Snow's fate.

Game of Thrones fans are at war over the latest season 6 rumour
This latest Game of Thrones fan theory is brilliantly absurd

For those who need a refresher, viewers were left open-mouthed in the season five finale when Kit Harington's beloved Night's Watch leader was left for dead by his own men.

Since that time, fans and even cast members have been abuzz with near-constant theories about Jon Snow's fate.

The balance seemed to tip towards the bearded hero being alive when Harington was spotted near a Game of Thrones season six script reading recently, and now even more evidence has come to light.

Generally reliable fansite Watchers on the Wall claims that Harington was seen participating in a massive shoot for a large-scale battle in Northern Ireland.

Game of Thrones season 6: Everything we know so far from plot spoilers to premiere date

The actor was apparently on set with Iwan Rheon, who of course plays the utterly hateable Ramsay Bolton.

Rumours on the fansite hint that the duo were taking part in a battle for control of the North, with the Umbers, the Boltons, wildlings and other factions involved.

We take all of these fan sightings with a huge caveat – but they could be the best indication yet that Jon Snow will be back in action next year.

Any official confirmation from HBO about the warrior's fate is unlikely as of now, given that the network is still sticking with the official explanation that Jon Snow is "deader than dead".

The fate of Jon Snow will finally be decided for certain when Game of Thronesreturns to HBO and Sky Atlantic next year.
